Sorry Bryce, Per my last post of 12-22-08, I've gone way back to 8.04 and am happy again. I've been VERY selective about any "Recommended" upgrades I'm getting notified of. If you still want that output, I'll figure out how to get it to you.
I'll be damned! I see the xserver-xorg ... etc. etc. Recommended upgrades have a "thanks" to YOU in the description. Things are too good right now to allow them onto my system. Apologies are probably in order.
