We currently seem to have to choice between tw evils. :( Question to Mauricio, Arnaud and Oliver (or anybody who has problems with the -11.22 kernel): will brightness settings work for you with that kernel and using "acpi_backlight=vendor". Since video is a module, it might be necessary to put the following line into /etc/modprobe.d/options instead of just using it as a boot option.
