Public bug reported:

I use Ubuntu 8.10 with an DELL XPS 1330, Windows keyboard.

I customized Ubuntu a little bit, so that the windows key on my keyboard
minimzes all open windows. If I use this key most of my open application
windows get lost. I can't find them on my Gnome GUI.

I tried several things:
1) pressing windows key once again (this should open all minimized windows
again) - no reaction
2) using ALT + Tab (should open a special window showing all running
applications) - nothing found
3) I controlled if some applications went to one of the three other virtual
desktops - nothing found

This happens even if I use the minimize button at the upper left of a
gnome application. Nearly all applications get lost.

This happens with: firefox, pdf viewer, sometimes with openoffice.

This bug is very enervating. Please help me!
