I am just wondering if this has anything to do with this problem. Few days ago I installed sensors-applet on my system. In order for it to work properly (with all available sensors on the system), I also had to install the lm-sensors package.
I followed the instructions from https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SensorInstallHowto It says there that after installing lm-sensors, you have to run: sudo sensors-detect The interesting part is that after sensors-detect added some modules to my /etc/modules the ACPI: Unable to turn cooling device [f7418738] 'on'.... messages disappeared.
