Hi, my problem may related to this bug I'm using Ubuntu 8.10 with update-manager version 1:0.93.34, on i386, installed from scratch (no dist upgrade). I have configured (in software sources) daily checking for updates, and just notify new updates (not automatically downloading/installing). It no longer checks for updates automatically, only when I press the check button in Update Manager.
This issue started happening some weeks ago. I use to have the computer on for about 12 hours a day (starting from 12:00 AM), most of the time unattended, and it used to detect new updates frequently. I've had no problems with this version of Ubuntu, nor any prior version, regarding this issue.
