Please upgrade to Ubuntu 8.10. It installs the proprietary software for BCM43xx. No need to use ndiswrapper anymore. At least for me it worked with a Dell Inspiron 531, 64 bits and a Broadcom BCM 4318 wireless card. Of course I can't garuantee, but it's worth trying.
