Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-mime-data

In the file /usr/share/mime-info/gnome-vfs.keys the default browser for
mime type text/html is listed as epiphany.

default_action_type=application
default_application_id=epiphany

Should this be changed to firefox?

Also listed are the application ids for different user levels:

short_list_application_ids_for_novice_user_level=epiphany,galeon,mozilla,netscape
short_list_application_ids_for_intermediate_user_level=epiphany,galeon,mozilla,netscape
short_list_application_ids_for_advanced_user_level=epiphany,galeon,mozilla,netscape,lynx

These aren't installed by default on the system I'm on right now
(Xubuntu 8.04). I'd guess they are probably not installed by default on
newer ones either.

I think this file is an older way to specify MIME types which has since
been replaced by a system which is located in /usr/share/applications

However, there may still be code which uses this.

For example, wxWidgets 2.8.7

This is why I think Audacity lists the following error when I try to
click on the manual link in the welcome screen:

execvp(epiphany, http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/documentation)
failed with error 2!

(the same applications are listed in the gnome-mime-data package for
jaunty, downloaded from http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/gnome/ )

** Affects: gnome-mime-data (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
