>In gvfs there is always a second way to access published folders (it is the same for samba shares).
Yes, there is, but it's also optional and extra. We mount GVFS shares through FUSE when possible, which allows legacy and/or POSIX-only applications to access files on our virtual file system. >On the client, the shares are published with the syntax "dav://....". If you simply try to copy one of the shared folders to the client (which is nothing but a normal download), it does not work, and you get the error message "not found". Copying (downloading) single files in the same way works fine. This is entirely another bug, likely 267642 or 227852. >Since "gnome-user-share" is meant to be a tool for everyone, the default way must work without any sofisticated workarounds! The problem is that "gnome-user-share" does not understand GIO, and thusly cannot use GVFS. You can use it with the FUSE mounted daemon, as mentioned above, but it's generally bad behavior to depend on anything in that folder since it very well may not exist on all configurations. But as I said, I also think it's nonsense to share a file that's already been shared. -- can't copy or move folders with "gnome-user-share" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/310598 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
