I see that behavious too. The behaviour looks a little familiar with an old bug with Xorg/XFree that would occur if you added a mouse twice... And it looks like that's what is going on:
The laptop has a 'GlidePoint' and I'm using an external mouse with usb received (logitech), but it adds 4 pointers, the usb receiver twice, the glide, and a ps/2 mouse. I only have one keyboard too, so I don't think it's right that it adds those twice... End result: mouse/keyboard events are received multiple times (and at not exactly the same moment), and xorg starts doing weird things. Perhaps this is what is hitting everybody with this bug, and #312353, and #310020, etc... $ grep "Adding input" Xorg.0.log (II) config/hal: Adding input device Sony Vaio Keys (II) config/hal: Adding input device Sony Vaio Keys (II) config/hal: Adding input device Logitech USB Receiver (II) config/hal: Adding input device Video Bus (II) config/hal: Adding input device AT Translated Set 2 keyboard (II) config/hal: Adding input device Macintosh mouse button emulation (II) config/hal: Adding input device AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint (II) config/hal: Adding input device PS/2 Mouse (II) config/hal: Adding input device Logitech USB Receiver -- Links flicker in FF3 after switching tabs in Kubuntu jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/310418 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
