Hi, thank you for answer so quickly.

I will try to explain my situation with my poor English.

1. I tried to install Guadalinex v.5 (kernel 2.6.24 gnome 2.22.3) in a
computer with 768 Mb DRAMM and 80 Gb HD
I have WinXp Pro in the first partition (C:), D:/My documents/ in the second
partition and a third partition unformatted. I wished to install that distro
in this last partition.
2. During installation, I choose no partition for swapping (I tried to
select C: or D: but the process asked for format, and I didn't know if that
action would destroy the existent data).
3. At the end of a normal installation, I choose hd0 for GRUB and then the
error ocurried.
4. I began from the begining and I selected /dev/sda/ for GRUB, but I
obtained the same error.
Sorry, I'm a user with no previous Linux experience, so I don't know what
are you talking about with your 1) and 2) items.
I hope you can help me to solve that easy-for-you question.
