Hi Leann, I still got this problem.. I'm not running on a laptop and I have a lot of disk space. Ubuntu has been installed on a FAT filesystem through Windows (I know, this is an awful solution, but I couldn't find another one for this PC).
I am running the 2.6.27-9 kernel, but the -7 version is still on the boot list and cannot be upgraded. I can upgrade other packages via the "Update Manager" previously de-selecting the kernel, else it gives up the entire upgrade when tries to upgrade the kernel -7. Anyway this is very annoying :(. I think that it is important for you to know that I have modified the kernel boot line from grub, adding the "noapic" option. Do you need further information? I tried all solutions listed here above, but no one solved the issue. -- linux image 2.6.27-7-generic update has fatal error and crashes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/309804 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
