Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel
Its has happened a couple of times before; sometimes I get it back easily sometimes is hell to do it. Anyway, the hole taskbar just dissapeared, and with it al menus, and it is impossible to get to the programs running in the bacgrounl (like skype, ktorrent, etc...) I was able to get it back after installing hell a lot of KDE and Gnome graphic version aplication, by steping on Appfinder. As you have provably realiced, I'm a new, basic windows user messing around. Y use Xubuntu, but when I wrote: "lsb_release -rd", gives me: Description: Ubuntu 7.10 Release: 7.10 ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Sun Jan 4 16:30:45 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 7.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/gnome-panel Package: gnome-panel 1:2.20.1-0ubuntu1 PackageArchitecture: i386 ProcCmdline: gnome-panel ProcCwd: /home/druida ProcEnviron: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=fi_FI.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: gnome-panel Uname: Linux druida-desktop 2.6.22-16-generic #1 SMP Mon Nov 24 18:28:27 GMT 2008 i686 GNU/Linux ** Affects: gnome-panel (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug -- taskbar just dissapeared.
