Hi,

I typed the command in the terminal and it said "gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg is
already the newest version". Would it be a problem specific to my
computer or is something in my Ubuntu setup that is not quite kosher?

Thanks

Subject: [Bug 312795] Re: when opening a "*. wmv" file in Totem Movie Player
the sound worked but not the video

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better, but unfortunately I've been unable to reproduce with the video you
provided. I launched it via Totem, and the video and audio played as expected.
 You might need to check to make sure you have the latest GStreamer ffmpeg
video plugin installed. Can you check that by running the following in a
terminal:
sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg

** Changed in: totem (Ubuntu)
       Status: New => Incomplete
