Public bug reported: Binary package hint: readpst
The 0.5.2 version of readpst on 8.04.1 dumps core when reading some Outlook 2003 PST files. jdimp...@argentina:~/foo$ readpst ../Personal\ Folders\(1\).pst Opening PST file and indexes... debug_fp is NULL ERROR: Unknown block constant - 0X2 for id 0x1479c2 About to start processing first record... Processing items... Processing Folder "Deleted Items" debug_fp is NULL ERROR Unknown ref_type 0x1048 Segmentation fault jdimp...@argentina:~/foo$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 8.04.1 Release: 8.04 When I directly downloaded & built the latest version of readpst (0.5.3), it handles this same PST file correctly. I notice that readpst 0.5.3 is present in 8.10. It doesn't seem to be available as a hardy- backport. As 8.04 is a long-term release, it would be wonderful if the more functional version 0.5.3 were available for it. This might be related to Bug #78613, although the errors are not identical, and that version of readpst was 0.5.1. Thank you for all your hard work on this package. It is appreciated!
