Hi, I am running Intrepid Ibex 6.10 64 bit with all the latest patches. sauerbraten: Installed: 0.0.20080620.dfsg-1 Candidate: 0.0.20080620.dfsg-1 Version table: *** 0.0.20080620.dfsg-1 0 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/multiverse Packages 500 http://za.archive.ubuntu.com intrepid/multiverse Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status After installing Sauerbraten from the add/remove programs menu I was unable to run it. Starting the program from the terminal gave me this error Using home directory: /home/home/.sauerbraten init: sdl init: enet init: video: mode X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 135 (XFree86-VidModeExtension) Minor opcode of failed request: 10 (XF86VidModeSwitchToMode) Value in failed request: 0x13b Serial number of failed request: 123 Current serial number in output stream: 125 Hardy 8.10 with all the updates of the day and a Nvidia card with the latest NVidia drivers installed. I managed to cure it by running Sauerbraten -h. This started the game in 640x480 fullscreen mode and allowed me to select windowed mode and then a 1152x768 resolution. My output now reads Using home directory: /home/home/.sauerbraten init: sdl init: enet init: video: mode init: video: misc init: gl Renderer: GeForce 8800 GT/PCI/SSE2 (NVIDIA Corporation) Driver: 2.1.2 NVIDIA 177.82 Rendering using the OpenGL 1.5 GLSL shader path. init: console init: gl: effects init: world init: sound init: cfg init: localconnect init: mainloop read map packages/base/metl4.ogz (0.1 seconds) Mining Station by metlslime game mode is ffa/default The default settings are causing a problem when running for the first time ** Affects: sauerbraten (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Sauerbaten won't start becuase of video problems https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/313474 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
