Same issue on a Toshiba Portege M600 that has an intel video card (GMX 4600, but it does not seem to be the issue at all) on Intrepid with all updates as of today.
Here are the brightness files after a boot : cat /proc/acpi/video/*/*/brightness <not supported> <not supported> <not supported> levels: 100 42 0 14 28 42 56 70 84 100 current: 100 <not supported> But the level should actually be 0 (display is dimmed). I also attach the gnome bug report file. ** Attachment added: "gnome-power-bugreport.sh" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20868373/gnome-power-bugreport.txt -- LCD Brightness on Laptop Always Set Very Low at Boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/12637 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
