Does it make a difference if you remove the secondary video card? Doing so could prove or disprove the hypothesis in comment #7.
Fwiw, I've a system with an ATI card and onboard Intel graphics, and also am seeing X fail to start up in Jaunty, and screen corruption when vt switching. However, this configuration worked properly in Intrepid, so it may be a separate bug. (Also, I don't see the same warning about multiple primary devices in the log file.) Regarding the other bugs, please take care to limit one bug report per issue. ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Triaged -- [HD3470 + HD3200] Dual cards prevents X from starting / black screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/311748 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
