I also have libwbclient0 and winbind 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3. I reproduced the problem by editing the /etc/nsswitch.conf file. sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart sudo /etc/init.d/winbind restart killall firefox Point firefox to www.msnbc.com, almost always dies on the first page.
