does it have anything to do with my xorg.conf ? I havent modified it, but my display driver is set to the proprietay ati fglrx drivers ( automatically installed the proprietary ati drivers ). When playing around with compiz on herdy and eft, it occured to me that resotring this file set my display issues right many a times.
