Hi, I found out after reporting this bug that it should be marked as a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/264019 . I recently got a new laptop and this still appeared to be an issue after installing all updates, etc., but not as much as I remembered it being previously. The 'new' behavior seems to be that a webpage takes a long time to load, but when it does everything comes in at once, and that the total load time is probably about what it would have been otherwise. I can test a little more thoroughly tonight when I'm at home.
Disabling TCP timestamps seems to correct the (for me) undesirable behavior, but I still get odd name resolution issues which seem to be related particularly to Verizon's name resolution/ad feature, where ads are displayed when a DNS lookup fails. I frequently get "failed" lookups for numerous domains that REALLY should not fail, like google.com. This doesn't seem to happen as much (or at all) for Windows and OSX boxes on the network, but it could be my imagination since I primarily use Ubuntu. I don't use the internet enough on my Hardy box to tell if it happens to it or not. -- Various network issues (Slow, connectivity, and timeouts) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/277884 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
