Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: network-manager

Network manager ALWAYS adds a new wired connection for my network card,
configured as dhcp after reboot and connects to it automaticallyu. I have tried
number of workarounds found on forums (that do not include removing network
manager):
- unchecking "system setting" and saving the changed configuration
- unchecking "automatically connect" on the automatically created connection
and leaving it checked on my saved static connection
- deleting the connections and adding a new static connection for the mac
address of my network card

and none of them work. After reboot system creates the new dhcp
connection and uses it as a default connection.

** Affects: network-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
