2: will follow up with, need to reboot, dmesg.log is literally 100% spammed full of that sense crap. (Laptop will -not- boot if usb hdd is attached, it will hang indefinitely with the progress bar 1/8 thru until It's unplugged, so the dmesg.log will be without the drive attached and thus without the sense error spam) 3: attached (the drive was connected when I did this not sure if that matters) Please fix this ASAP, It's a huge showstopper for me and anyone else with the same issue who uses their external drives for all their media.
