I am running Intrepid (released version) with all the updates and the nm-applet shows 14% signal strength and the Network monitor shows average value of 59% signal strength, which is in good agreement with the Vista (dual boot) value. Based on the performance I would say that the network monitor signal strength is accurate. Oddly enough the signal strength on the nm-applet does not very from the 14%. However, network monitor varies from 56 to 61%.
