Public bug reported:

In Kubuntu 8.04, everything worked fine. I plugged in my Camera and I
could immediately open it as a folder. In Kubuntu 8.10, I can see my
camera in PTP mode (but cannot open the folder), and in normal mode, I
cannot even see the camera.

I ran this (in PTP mode): env LANG=C gphoto2 --debug --debug-logfile=my-
logfile.txt --capture-preview

And it took a picture, but failed to save it. The file my-logfile.txt
is attached. This MAY be related to Bug #228154, but the patch does not
change anything for my camera Canon EOS 350D

Thanks for your help.
