well, I haven't had any desktop freezes since that day, I don't know what caused it and what fixed it, during that day I experienced 5 freezes, I remember that on the same day along with the first batch of updates there where another three or four updates for evolution (which I use a lot) during the whole day and another two or three adobe reader updates, maybe it was one of these last updates that fixed the problem, or it was my technique for fixing these problems!, I have found out from the previous ubuntu version that when I experience a crash (mainly firefox crashes) if I can login and reboot (and deleting .metacity) three or four times without a crash the problem will go away! so I applied this on that day after being fed up with the 5 freezes, three short 10 minutes sessions without any freezes, fixed! no more freezes till this day! well maybe I'm dreaming but it seams to work! yes, please you can close the bug.
