This is seemingly a problem with gnome-power-manager, acpi_listen
displays keypresses immediately. Also, if you change power manager
settings like "dim while idle", the brightness OSD stops responding for
a period of time and the selectable brightness levels become severely
reduced.

The output from `gnome-power-bugreport.sh`:

In the attached log, captured from running `gnome-power-manager
--verbose --no-daemon`, I changed the dim when idle preference at
exactly 9:14:00 local time. Then I reduced brightness three times and
increased it three times. The brightness changed, but the OSD did not.
gnome-power manager seemed to be hung. Then, the OSD appeared, but
immediately stopped responding as power-manager hung again, I issued
brightness up a bunch of times, and it eventually came around and I was
able to increase my brightness to maximum. I then truncated the log.
