Thanks for your rapid response. Please be patient as bug reporting is all new to me!
I agree this is not a specific Firefox problem. It seems to be a RT2561 problem but appears mostly in Firefox. I just ran the items you requested, this with 2.6.24-22 kernel & with backports module installed. This configuration does not crash. For information, all the crashes without backports modules, with kernels -19 & -21 & -22 involve Caps Lock & Scroll Lock flashing, no keyboard action, no REISUB etc, no mouse movement, but screen contents unaffected from before freeze. Let me know if I can provide more information. I can almost certainly recreate the problem by booting to -21 kernel without backports, but don't know how to get any useful information out of the system. This is the output of uname -a: ch...@desktop:~$ uname -a Linux DESKTOP 2.6.24-22-generic #1 SMP Mon Nov 24 18:32:42 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux ch...@desktop:~$ I have attached dmesg.log but can't seem to attach more than one at a time so will attach the rest to a new message. ** Attachment added: "dmesg.log" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20476714/dmesg.log -- kernel panics when using mouse in Firefox https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/308300 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
