hi matthew, > Ok, looks like your running Ubiquity 1.0.17, is that correct? Also which > distro were you using, and what was it doing when it crashed? Thanks. :) > sorry, i don't know the ubiquity-version i'm running. i tried to install kubuntu 6.10 from the desktop-cd. does that hint you the ubiquity-version? the installer crashed after i manually set up the following partitions (i'm still running winxp on the computer and want to keep it until i have a fully working kubuntu system):
ca. 9gb for root as ext3 (also tried to format it as ext2 - didn't work either) ca. 512mb for swap as linux-swap ca. 50gb for home as fat32 the crash-notice showed while the installer tried to complete step 6 from 6 with the notice that the chosen file format does not fit the mounting point (didn't say which file format and which mounting point though). does that help you to continue tracing the reason why the installer crashed? thanks for your help kat -- installer crashed https://launchpad.net/bugs/74445 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
