I don't know if this is related, but ever since Hardy (and still in Intrepid), my Keyboard Shortcuts Ctrl-Alt-L (Lock screen), Ctrl-Alt-H (Home folder) and Ctrl-Alt-S (Suspend) have stopped working. They're still listed in System -> Preferences -> Keyboard Shortcuts. I don't know how to tell whether this causes acpi events, or whether hal notices them, or whatever, but I can upload any files or log outputs that people might want.
