Thank you for taking the time to file a bug and make Ubuntu better. More than likely you need to edit your edid.bin file and you will have to edit your xorg.conf file to point to the new edid.bin. Of course without knowing more about your set up I am just guessing.

If you do start a thread include more info about your set up.
