I have to confirm the this bug. lspci info: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device (rev 02) I do not depend in nice optical gimmicks and therefore I tried this workaround: With sudo apt-get install xfce4 I installed another X GUI and until now everything works just fine. A nice goody is the that the system speeds up a lot now. Everything is a lot faster, although my machine is a 1,6 GHz processor with 2 GB RAM.
