I would encourage them to backport the 0.7.0-rc2 upstream version from Gnome. I have done it in the PPA[*] and the problem seems to be solved. [*] https://launchpad.net/~snapy/+archive This is just a proof of concept that the upstream version works. Now I think it is up to the official package maintainers to do the packaging according to all policy rules.
