Comment from upstream: Is this an ASCII passphrase, and if so, are you choosing the "ASCII passphrase" option from the dropdown menu?
There are 3 options for WEP: hex, ASCII, and Passphrase. Each is distinct, and you pretty much have to know which one you're using, since it's impossible to autodetect.
