I have tested the camera as part of a review for the Acer 6293 for a school here and came up with the following with the cam. 8.04 Freezes the system. (But all video froze, even effects in totem when playing music.) Required a hard reboot. 8.10 Works very well in xawtv but in cheese it doesn't show anything, and in camorama it gives an error that /dev/video0 Could not connect to video device. "Please check connection." And weird enough, it actually works in skype very well. Hope we can getting it to work in cheese and probably other gstreamer apps soon.
