Just happened again.  Reboot also fixes.  Will let you know if / when  
it fails again.

Don't know if it's related or not, but when I tried to reboot when  
flash failed, got the double Ubuntu progress bar, (upper one updating,  
lower one doing nothing) that I believe I've only gotten when I  
clean-install Ubuntu, (i.e. haven't seen the double bar since I  
flattened my laptop after the RC's to install a final, clean 8.10).
