Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compizconfig-settings-manager
I'm using the gconf backend. When I reset my current profile to default, also other settings totally unrelated to compiz are reseted, for example the value in /desktop/gnome/applications/terminal Steps to reproduce: 1.) change the current profile in ccsm 2.) change the gconf value of /desktop/gnome/applications/terminal/exec to "terminator" 3.) press "reset to default" in ccsm->preferences->"profile & Backend" Result: gconf value of /desktop/gnome/applications/terminal/exec is changed back to "gnome-terminal" In my opinion this is a serious bug, ccsm should not change values unrelated to compiz. If this is expected behaviour, then ccsm is missing a big warning like "this also affects other/unrelated gnome preferences" Markus ProblemType: Bug Architecture: amd64 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Package: compizconfig-settings-manager 0.7.8-0ubuntu3 PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: PATH=/home/username/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games LANG=de_DE.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: compizconfig-settings-manager Uname: Linux 2.6.27-10-generic x86_64 ** Affects: compizconfig-settings-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug -- Reset to default in the profile & Backend dialog also changes default terminal application https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/306181 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
