I am not sure if this helps, but maybe it works with the radeon driver, or radeonhd driver, and if that is the case we already know, that it's a bug in fglrx. If you use Intrepid the radeonhd version will be too old, so you would have to build, but that not so hard: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RadeonHD
