Confirmed on Intrepid. The workaround did not work for me. Somehow any changes regarding the compiz-no compiz question gets discarded at logout. I have to turn off compiz every time I log in. I just don't know which variable is string instead of list. Is there a way to find it out? Debug package, smart gconf magic?
