Thanks for your response Tormod, since I was confused about the issue.
The bug report has been closed because it was solved in the final
release of Intrepid Ibex. I'm running Intrepid as the single OS on the
very laptop, this problem accrued. So I'm wondering if Elygia is
accidentally running a Beta or RC version of Intrepid.
