Changing from 'Confirmed' to 'Incomplete'. We've yet to find a reproducible bug from this forest of symptoms. I can appreciate your frustration (it happens to me, too), so let's finish ruling out missing packages and misconfigurations.
1) Try adding the 'flashplugin-nonfree-extrasound' package. 2) If you've tried 'flashplugin-nonfree-extrasound' and it didn't work, then the next step is to try pulseaudio: To setup Flash+PA on Intrepid, open a terminal window and enter these two commands: sudo apt-get install libasound2-plugins asoundconf set-pulseaudio If it works for you, then simply unsubscribe from the bug (bug 291371). Please don't post your success here - it creates a lot of extra noise. 3) If it still doesn't work for you, then try the troubleshooting page at http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=789578 . It really will fix most pulseaudio configuration problems. 4) If it still doesn't work for you, then please collect more information before posting to this bug report: If you enable system sounds, do you hear the startup music when you log in? Can you play sound files in Totem or Rhythmbox or Amarok or other Applications? If you restart your system, and open NO OTHER APPLICATIONS except firefox, then can you get audio in firefox? Do you have any other -possibly related- problems, like frequent freezes in specific applications, hardware detection issues, or startup/shutdown failures? Again, if your problem gets fixed, please unsubscribe from the bug. If your problem is not fixed, collect and post the information in #4 so we can start looking for your possible bug. ** Changed in: firefox (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: adobe-flashplugin => firefox Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- No sound with Flash 10 in Ubuntu 8.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/291371 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
