In terms of Ubuntu releases this means you need at least Intrepid (Ubuntu 8.10, HPLIP 2.8.7) for explicit support. But as this printer is similar to many other HP inkjets you will most probably be able to use it also with your version of Ubuntu. Choose for example the HP Deskjet 6980 as your printer model. For using any graphical tool of HPLIP, you need toi install hplip-gui.
