I have installed Mandriva with kde-4.1 on my laptop. It works really fine. No X-crashes. So, there must exist better X-drivers (or whatever gives the problem). I think that intrepid has been released before proper testing. I have experienced 3 computers where X crashes (using ati and via drivers): my laptop, my pc and my son's pc. Too bad.
