Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus
In the media tab of the preferences, selecting the "open with other application" option from the dropdown menu for any of the formats (audio CD, DVD, etc.) and then choosing the "use a custom command" and "browse" leads to a file browser at /usr/bin that doesn't respond. Even though the caret stil blinks, no buttons work. One can not close it through the cancel button or the cross, but closing the parent window (the "add application" one) will close it without any problems. If one adds the path to the desired application manually (/usr/bin/rrip_gui in my case), it is accepted and the system then has the expected behaviour (opening the requested application –Ruby Ripper in my case– upon inserting audio CDs for instance).
