1) there are no asound.conf or .asoundrc* anywhere on a system; 2) `grep -EnH '^options(.)*snd-hda-intel' /etc/modprobe.d/*` finds nothing. I have used all combinations of with/without options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1 options snd-hda-intel single_cmd=1 with no difference in outcome.
