Hello Mathias, the patch in CVS can be found in: http://www.openldap.org/devel/cvsweb.cgi/servers/slapd/overlays/rwmconf.c?hideattic=1&sortbydate=0 ( search for ITS#5647 ). I read through the Stable Release Updates... seems like I have to build openldap from source ;-(.
