Eduard, thank you for the quick response. 0.3.3 (or a later version) should go into jaunty, no doubt. For the stable releases hardy and intrepid, we only have two options and updating to 0.3.3 is not one of them.
a) find a minimal patch to fix the problem b) ask everybody to install 3rd-party binaries for apt-cacher-ng (such as the ones I provide in my PPA) If at all possible, I'd like to avoid b). You've already pointed out the changelog possibly dealing with this exact problem. If we now can come up with a minimal patch for this fix and this fix only, we have a chance to get an SRU exception and continue to support users inside the ubuntu framework (SRU: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates) If you can help me find the code that needs to be changed, I'm willing to do the rest. -- apt-cacher-ng hangs and corrupts packages (intrepid) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/302693 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
