Hello
full confirm on that, my thinkpad t23 has no cable for detection. The
disk connector is soldered to the mainboard. The controller can do
udma100, has done this for 7.xx versions and does it when booting such
old live cd. Kernel with hdX runs well, with sdX they are slow.
Board and controller can do:

But when detecting the disk (transcend ssd) it fails.

So the ssd runs slowdowned at not as fast as possible.

What to do? Use a very old kernel from 7.xx with lots of problems to fix
this? I have no bios limitations in the machine that can be adjusted.
