Yes, sometimes backports are vital. For example, my friend have to choose between wifi and ethernet on his Dell Inspiron 640m: With LBM 2.6.27-7.6 and higher broadcom ethernet card works, but intel wireless does not, due to this bug. With LBM 2.6.27-7.5 and lower - wireless works, but ethernet does not. %( so, thanks for high priority! :)
