Hi,
During the porcess of installing (restoring) a ubuntu dapper drake on a PC I've
fall upon two bugs. The last of them was lethal (for the installation process
:-) and asked me to send you this message. However this may not be some real
bug suince I was doing some things pretty unusuals. Let me describe in details
the situation:
1) the PC have a hda of 160GB.
2) I have formated this things with a "aurox linux" I had at hand a few month
ago: hda1~20Gb/FAT32 hda2~1GB/swap hda3~12GB/ext3 hda4:special hda5~130GB/fat32
hda6~0.5GB/FAT32
3) I have installed a freshly downloaded (yesterday) dapper drake on hda2+hda3.
a) it works
b) Yet I had an error message during the checking of the drive by the partition
manager. I can't remember what the error was. Yet it tooks more than half an
hour to have all the partitions displayed.
4) I have been forced to install W$ on hda1 which has removed the boot loader.
5) Since I don't know how to put this things on the system I've decided to
install again ubuntu in the same way as previously.
6) during the installation process, the partition manager was again sucking.
After three hours I've decided to have a look at what was happening. It looks
like it was not able to check one of the fat32 partition. I have issued a
"sudo kill -INT 7921" to the fsck which was running since so long. And then the
installation process was able to continue.
7)I get to the sixth step of the installation and after doing about 30% of its
work, the installer issued this message:
