Completely the same here with Ubuntu 8.04 on HP Pavilion dv3016tx. Besides, I've never paid attention until see Parthan SR mentioning (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/268949/comments/2) an issue I'm having, too: it seems to that neither of "Fn+" keys work properly on my keyboard, except for "Fn + F2" (=Print), "Fn + F3" (=Open browser window)", "Fn + scroll" (=Num Lock), "Fn + Insert" (=Print Screen) and "Fn + Delete" (=Print Screen, although it says "sys rq", which I'm unaware of the functionality of).
